Questions

Frequently asked questions

What owners ask before anything else. If something is missing, write to us.

The product

  • Can I use it yet?

Not yet. Ajiliapp is in development and runs every day in a real café, which is where it gets tested. Join the list and we will write the day it opens.

  • Which devices does it run on?

Android for the tablet or phone on the floor, Windows for the register at the counter, and the browser for checking numbers from anywhere. Same application, not three separate products.

  • Does it really work offline, or just for a while?

Really. The database lives on the device and is the source of truth, not a temporary cache. Selling, printing, opening and closing a shift never depend on the network. You could never connect the device and the POS would work the same.

  • What happens when the signal comes back?

Queued operations send themselves, in order. Each one carries its own identifier, so if one arrives twice the server recognises it and does not duplicate anything.

  • Does it work for a business that is not a restaurant?

The core — menu, register, shifts, inventory, reports — fits any business that sells to the public. What is built specifically for restaurants and cafés is the floor: tables, tickets by station and split checks.

Data and security

  • Where does my data live?

On your device. Today Ajiliapp sends nothing to any server. When sync exists it will be something you switch on, not something already running.

  • What if the tablet breaks?

That is why backup is part of the product and not an add-on. You can export the whole database and restore it on another device. With several devices in the venue, each one also holds its own copy of what went through it.

  • Who can see the reports?

Every user signs in with a PIN and has a role. A server takes orders and takes payment; margins and closings are seen by whoever you decide.

  • Can I get my information out?

Yes, and without asking permission. Reports export and the database backs up whole. Your sales are yours.

Price and availability

  • What is it going to cost?

We have not published pricing yet. Tick "I want to know the pricing" on the waitlist and we will send it as soon as it is set, before it goes on the site.

  • Which countries will it be in?

The intent is anywhere: currency, number and date formats are per region, and the interface is translated. We start in Colombia because that is where the café it is tested in happens to be.

  • Which languages?

The site is in Spanish, English and Portuguese today. The application is translated one file per language, so adding one is a matter of translating it — nothing gets rewritten.

Hardware

  • Will it work with my thermal printer?

That is what we are closing out: thermal printing over USB and over the network, with the cash drawer hanging off the printer. When the list of tested models is ready we publish it here.

  • Do I need to buy new hardware?

That is not the plan. If you already have an Android tablet, a Windows machine and a thermal printer, those are the three pieces it takes.

Get on the list and be among the first.
